This month’s full moon takes place on September 15th, 2008.  Full moons are notorious for erratic behavior and mishaps in response to the open doorway to the emotions created by Luna, our moon.  Yet the moon can only give us a reflection of the light.  Perhaps that lingering light brought into the darkness causes us to look more closely within ourselves.  Luna gives us a stillness that we cannot run away from.

The Mayan Tzolkin calendar recognizes both the light and the darkness, yet does not make such distinction.  In the Mayan calendar this day is Six Ik, or wind.  Six gives us balance and receptivity.  Within the stillness of six we find the ability to respond, to root ourselves in many new directions.  Ik, or the wind, brings that breath of spirit into our hearts.  Here we can find divine presence, those unseen forces that guide and protect us.  Or, it may appear to be that feeling of being watched, with eyes upon us at every turn.  It’s all in our perception.

Luna does not lead us, but let’s us find our own way.  With eyes and arms wide open the full moon provides us with opportunity to explore a the new world, the world within.

Good old Murphy’s Laws. Murphy’s Law (”If anything can go wrong, it will”) was born at Edwards Air Force Base in 1949 at North Base, and attributed to an actual man named Murphy. Apparently Murphy was a tester, and if anyone could find what could possibly go wrong, it was Murphy. A list was kept of his findings, and thus began “Murphy’s Laws”.

So here we have a really good list with valid troubleshooting, something that was turned into more of a safety protocol than the doomsday type negative magnet that we think of these days.

Why have I chosen to talk about an overused expression and the origin of the Murphy’s Law concept? Just a few minutes ago I was talking with a fellow Reiki Master about my next trip for a visit, and expressed my homebound status. “My son was supposed to leave for a trip, but it’s been postponed day after day, so I don’t know if he’ll be here to take care of the dogs or not”. My idea now is that if I do take this 100 mile drive, with the intent of staying there for a couple of days, is that no sooner will I arrive that my son will call me to say, “I got the call, I’m leaving right now”, and I will have to turn around and return home that same day. Hmmm, maybe that will be the catalyst to make his trip happen!

Call it Murphy’s law, or reverse psychology, or just plain old stubborn willfulness. Sometimes to get things unstuck we have to put the gears in reverse. EFT uses this reversal theory, or more accurately stated, the correction of a reversal in energy. The way I see it it’s taking charge of the situation, and taking it in whatever direction works, just so I can get things back in flow. It’s just stepping out of resistance and struggle. Once things are moving again you can always change back to the old direction.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different outcome each time

Maybe it’s just a twisted little way of thinking, but sometimes it really does work to turn the table on Murphy’s laws. At least it gets us out of the mindset that stuck us there in the first place. Maybe we’ll even find a little more amusement about the situation. I think I’ll be heading down the the Reiki school soon. Maybe I’ll pack for the day, and find I didn’t bring enough. Maybe I’ll pack for a couple days, and get that call that says “come home and take care of the dogs”. Hey, when did Murphy get a fork in the road?

When I woke this morning my first thought was “OMG, it’s Friday already - how has this week gone by so quickly?”  Well, luckily I listened, and realized that was not the best way to start the day.   The same goes for that “TGIF” statement.  Sure, we need to vent a little steam sometimes, but then we get into these patterns.  We wink and we nod in agreement, “Yeah, TGIF!!”.  Is it possible for us to wake up and say “Welcome to the day”?  Hint: if you’ve got your fingers cross behind your back you can say “welcome to the day” all you want without bringing a spark of light in to ruin a perfectly good illusion.

I’ll stop now and state that I have one of those silly grins on my face.  You know, that grin that comes when you know you’re on the right track.  I guess I did get over my OMG it’s Friday bubble of “joy”.  Welcome to the day.  Let’s remind everyone, again and again, Life is the Spark, You are the Flame.

Today is Eight Edznab in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar.  Eight is one of the high points in the cycle, when the energy is intensified.  Edznab is the mirror, and gives us the opportunity to look past the illusions we call day-to-day life.  Some do not want this glimpse into their own spiritual purpose and passions.  Many are awakening on new levels, and those people are beginning to question who and what they have come to know as “self”.  Heck, even those of us who think we are seasoned seekers have those new level moments, in fact we relish those moments.

Did I share with you that my Mayan Tzolkin Insights, aka my clairvoyant interpretations of the Mayan Calendar, is posted on it’s own site now?   You’ll find the daily postings at www.mayancalendar.yinyangpower.com, and in fact while you are there have a stop over at YinYangPower.  I decided that the Mayan calendar belonged with the yin yang power site.  Both honor the duality aspects of life.  Every day I’m posting the day/glyph combo for the upcoming day.  Please feel free to return to the site and comment on your experiences.

Welcome to the day!  Today is a great day to look beyond the OMG and TGIF’s and see the spark of life, and remember that you are the flame.
